Your Thanksgiving Recipe For Financial Freedom

The giving of thanks is officially here.

With all the tough times, creative financing, and staying afloat we all need a break. While you enjoy the experience of your holiday, in whatever form that comes, here are few things to keep in mind.

I am currently preparing for the big feast at our house for about 20. The energy is gathering and the ingredients are piling up ready to be used in all sorts of goodies. I love to bake.

Anyone who knows me understands that I bake, I don’t cook. My son proclaims me the queen of the microwave.

Bread, pies, cake – these are my cold weather indulgences.

As soon as the gray weather starts, I turn on the oven.

I’m getting everything prepped and I thought of a correlation. What if I left out a vital ingredient?

In the pie – spices. I have messed up lots in baking leaving things out like baking soda, eggs, flour.

Or in one case, leaving the wax paper in a frozen crust and baking a pumpkin pie in it. It turned out perfect and I slid the whole pie off the wax and into the baked crust with no one the wiser.

What is the missing ingredient ingredient in my ventures?

Excitement.

Lots of online tasks and business focus, not a lot of personality.

Well, we are starting to get some attitude in the FMS blog, thanks to Cath’s cutting wit.

The trick for all these recipes, whether they are food or financial is to remember ALL the ingredients.

Planning, a little mixing, and the best part, fun.

While beating the path to financial freedom, remember to enjoy some time off along the way.

A toast to you and your success.

Happy Thanksgiving -

I’m not a cook or a baker, but one day a year I attempt to bake cookies with my sister and a few other friends. This is our 10th year running. One year I added all the wet and dry contents to the lemon bars in one bowl and baked it. Lemon Goo. One other year, I baked brown sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla and something else, at 350 for 35 minutes, without realizing that I forgot the flour. Hot goo! The ability to enjoy the process even more than an outcome is something I’ve had to practice for years…it means staying in the moment, standing in your kitchen while you are baking and actually realizing that you are baking. Seems simple sometimes, but there are chunks of my life that I cant recall simply cause I was thinking ahead, and not staying present. My Winter Wish for you is nice, windy, cool, wintery weather and if you have to bring all those treats to the party on Friday, well gosh darn it, I’ll support you! I’m sure between all of us we’ll be able to choke them down. lol Love you and Happy Thanksgiving! Rem

  3. Yum, I can’t wait to taste your baking this Friday.

Looking forward to having fun with all of you this weekend… Sharing our passions and our stories and just connecting for the holidays.

So grateful to be a part of this group!

    Hugs,
    Lisa
