My apologies go out to my eight women dream buddies for missing our meeting on Wednesday. I had even rearranged a lesson so I could attend.
This last month has been such a roller coaster ride with the San Luis Obispo Paint Out, school and Artrails. I was surprised how I managed to make it through without catching my husbands two week long cold or any of the nasty bugs flying around the school where I teach at. This surprise was short-lived.
After getting off the roller coaster ride of art shows, my body gave in and decided to be sick. I spent Wednesday evening asleep on the couch and Saturday morning at the doctors office. This has been not a very productive week, so I will be making this blog a short one.
On a happy note, once again the hills are green! The song The hills are alive with the sound of music . . . instantly races through my mind. I do not believe I have ever seen that whole movie, but the scene where Julie Andrews is singing on the green hill with such abandon sticks in my memory.
It is that same excitement that I feel when I see the hills change. The dry summer hills never inspire me. As soon as that soft velvet green of the new growth emerges, my paintbrushes start calling to me.
Still dreaming of painting in Italy.
(Wendy’s dream is still to become a influential international artist, but she left 8 Women Dream in March of 2010 to complete grad school. She is still a strong supporter of 8 Women Dream and you will see her in the comments on the blog.)

Wendy, its great that you took care of yourself – and I’m sure everyone at the meeting understands…Looking forward to meeting you! Rem
We missed you, but I have been worried about your crazy schedule! Remember your vitamins – esp vitamin C! Your body probably said SLEEP . . . and so you did.
So sorry you got the bug. Get lots of rest!
Wendy, I hope you can paint in Italy… and I can write there
and we can all spend some time there TOGETHER living our dreams… Can you imagine?!?
let’s make it happen
Lisa
Wendy – you were missed (as always!) but I hope you are on the fast road to recovery.
I love this time of year – the vines and trees all changing. And the green all over my yard from the sprouting bird seed. Enjoy!
