My dream to be a famous photographer means I’m committed to becoming better and learning. One of the things I’m trying to get better is natural light and creating portraits that capture emotion. I’m comfortable in the studio. I set up the light, know how to disarm people and can capture emotion. But natural light has a different set of challenges and lack of control. Since practice makes perfect for photography dreamers I’ve made a conscious effort photograph my son in natural light.
In my new dream home on an organic farm, I’ve been getting lots of chances to photograph using natural light.
I’m also learning things about the growth of food that most people aren’t aware of. This Chipotle ad is timely.
Did you know that what chickens eat is imparted to you via their eggs? If a chicken eats tomato the lysine and nutritional benefits are transferred to when you eat the egg. Can you imagine what a caged and genetically modified grain fed chicken is imparting to you from their eggs?
Every child should hug a chicken. Nothing makes you more aware of the sacrifice animals make for us than realizing that they are another soul on this earth.
I’m quite happy with how these photos turned out. If I were to shoot again I would position the chair against a different background. But I had to act quickly and his joy is apparent.
Practice makes perfect photography dreamers! I’ve made a point of getting my camera out every day for almost a month now. And my snapshots may seem mundane to some, but they are treasures for my family. Get out and there shoot!
