As we move into the second month of 2015, I’ve been revisiting my goals for the year, and setting some now ones. I want 2015 to be a year of growth, expansion, adventures and fun, and I want to challenge myself.
Often I have found the most satisfaction in my life in moving past my perceived limitations, and becoming more than I had previously believed I could be. This year, I plan to find happiness in moving beyond the limits I’ve set for myself in the past.
Moving Beyond Limits by Writing, Dancing, Creating!
To push myself beyond where I’ve ever been before, I hired a top-notch business coach, Susan Hyatt, to help me grow my coaching business this year. I am launching some new group coaching programs for women, and creating online courses.
My coach and I have goals to grow my income beyond what it has ever been before, and more importantly to reach as many women as possible, and to help them live their dreams. I am passionate about helping women to love themselves more, and to live their passions.
I am pushing myself to take action on my business just about every day. Part of that includes creating Websites for new programs.
Part of it involves promoting my programs through social media and email lists. And part of it involves reaching out to women personally who I think would benefit from what I can offer.
I think of it as a great excuse to connect with smart, interesting women, and to help people I care about to take the next steps in living their dreams. It’s so easy to get stagnant sometimes in our lives, and to stop moving forward.
It takes courage, and perseverance, and focus to gain traction on dreams. I aim to help as many women as possible to make leaps forward and to know that they truly can create anything, when they commit and get into motion.
I have come to believe that the real secret to living your dreams is love plus action. Decide what you love, and be in action to create what you want.
Life is not much fun without passion, and nothing happens without action.
Moving Beyond Limits by Pushing My Physical Limits
I love challenging my body too, and have a number of goals for this year. I am working hard to be in the best shape of my life so far, and plan to do a boudoir photo shoot to capture that when I turn 44 this spring.
I have plans to tackle some fun and challenging new dance choreography with a friend of mine who is a championship dancer later this spring. I’ll also be teaching a dance class for women called Bringing Sexy Back, and am having fun prepping the moves and music for that.
And, I plan to go vegan for Lent as a healthy challenge. I’ve been pescatarian for years, and want to further clean up my diet and try eating an entirely plant-based diet both for my own health and the good of the planet.
I am constantly looking to improve, and find ways to have even more joy and energy. I plan to live for a long time and want to feel as good as possible, and to be able to give back as much as possible.
I’m nervous but excited about tackling new choreography, and pushing my boundaries in dance. Yet I figure I was given a healthy body and a passion for dancing – might as well push that to the limit as well, and dance all that i can!
I want to show people through being a living example that dancing and being in your best shape are absolutely possible in your 40s, and well beyond your 40s. I plan to be dancing until I am 100!
Moving Beyond Limits by Finally Getting My Books Out There Into the World!
The other big goal that I plan to move on in 2015 is finally getting a book out into the world. I have always known I would write books someday, and I do have one draft manuscript done that needs a lot of work.
I may either resurrect it or shelve it for now and start another book; I have several book ideas. Either way I feel like it’s time for me to commit to taking regular action on this goal because it’s one of my biggest heart’s desires for this lifetime, and there is no time like now to work on it!
I’ve been blessed to connect recently with some writer friends who are giving me inspiration, and I will use that as fuel to create the habit of a regular writing practice again. I’ve done it in the past, and know that I can make it part of my routine to write 1,000 words a day, or something similar to that.
All of this means I have to be efficient with my time and to make the most of my days. I wouldn’t characterize myself as an efficiency expert, and it will take shifting some current habits.
I may do a Facebook fast over the spring months, limiting my login time to make sure it is not sucking up hours out of my day. I am looking into better organizing my home and personal systems to be sure that the basic details of maintaining my life don’t slow me down.
And, I’m looking to move beyond my own past perceived limits in terms of what I can earn, and how far I can take my career. I feel like all of this work is going to help to move rise higher on my path and to be the best me I can be.
Moving Beyond Limits by Loving Myself And Accepting Where I Am!
As I take all of these forward-moving action steps. I try to remember that i need to be kind to myself too as a recovering perfectionist. I remind myself daily that the whole point of life is to enjoy the journey, and not to need to reach a certain destination.
It is in the process of “getting there” and reaching our goals that is how we learn and grow, and have adventures. It’s always fun to achieve a goal, but it is taking the actions and disciplining ourselves to make choices to shape our days and lives into what we want them to be that we become our most magnificent selves.
I can’t wait to show myself, and the world what I can do and become. Life for me is most fun when I am challenging myself to push beyond my limits.
For me, happiness is in evolving, growing, and becoming the next greatest, grandest version of me.
