How are You At Accepting Compliments? Accepting compliments image

Many people struggle to accept compliments.

Most women I’ve met will hear a compliment and then demur and tell you how it isn’t true or how her other flaws void the compliment. (I am totally included in this. Even though I KNOW I still have trouble saying “thank you” and believing them.)

One woman did a social experiment with online dating and when complimented by a guy, she affirmed that she was indeed cute, beautiful, hot. They didn’t take it well.

It got me thinking. What if the next time you got a compliment you said wholeheartedly, “Yes! Thank you!”

Let me get you started:

You have an amazing bum!

(Now you say, “Yes, thank you!”)

I’d kill for your amazing legs. Did you know how long your legs were?

(Now you say, “I had noticed that just yesterday when I could reach the cereal on the high shelf at the store! Thank you!”)

Your cheekbones could cut butter!

(Now you say, “Yes! They can! I just used them to cut butter when all the dishes were in the dishwasher! It totally worked!”)

I’m being silly. Hopefully you chuckled. In all seriousness, a compliment is a compliment.

Practice random acts of self-love.

Accept compliments.

Even if you have a laundry list of reasons why it shouldn’t count.
