This is one of my original posts on 8 Women Dream … wow have I changed!

Have you ever noticed how few hours there actually are in the day? As 1 of 8 women who are kicking butt on our dreams daily, we all need support. The good news is that we have a support team built into this group.

We had our first 8 Women Dream group meeting with EVERYONE last night. Schedules are crazy and it took 2 coasts, Skype, conference calls, 2 women suffering from colds, canceled plans and a few glasses of wine, and we all got a chance to catch up with our dreams.

Supporting yourself helps too.

Supporting yourself helps too.

How do you define support? Along the way this week I have needed a lot of support. Support from friends, colleagues, a husband, three cats and my bite guard. That got me thinking of all the versions of support I rely on regularly.

Here are a few meanings of support and how they applied to me in the last few last few weeks:

  1. to bear or hold up; serve as a foundation = Cath and her ability to pull documentation out of who knows where
  2. to sustain or withstand without giving way = my husband for hanging in there through the never ending work
  3. to undergo or endure with patience; tolerate = my son for hanging with me in the office
  4. to uphold by aid = my support bra keeps me on the treadmill,
  5. to corroborate = the 8 women and the accountability they provide to keep this rolling

Where is your support system coming from? How often do you get to say thanks? Here’s my big thank you to the support team of 8 women.

Keep kicking butt and find support where you can,

Heather Montgomery

Thank you heather! I get my support from my father who tirelessly makes all my painting frames, from my mother who keeps saying “You can do it”, my husband tolerating a house of chaos, my fifteen year old son for “keeping it real”, my best friend who loves chocolate and foreign movies as much as I do and of course 8 WOMEN DREAM.

    Is that a double positive? I must be tired . . .

  • I also define support as a good bra too!

  • Great post Heather and great topic! So honored to be a part of the 8 Women Dream team. :-)

I find support from my amazing best friend, great friends and community in general, awesome family, from the wonderful man I’m dating… Great to have it here now from all of you, too!

Here’s to living our dreams, as as team… Because NO ONE does it on their own… We’re all lucky to have each other! :-)

I also get support from Kim in her graphic design abilities which allow me to get more done in a day … and chocolate too!

    Remy for always being there!

Thanks for your comments everyone ;-)

My husband supports me in whatever I want to do with my life. I just need to figure out what I want to be when I grow up;)
My parents are amazing, and they are incredible grandparents. They are my inspiration.

  • My son, my ex wife, his dog and cat, my mom and meditation are all my support. I would not have made it through the meltdown of my business without them.

Coffee, wine, beer and football help too.

Coffee – you forgot coffee as support – tons and tons and tons of coffee!

Thanks for the kuddos but you and Ray are my support so back at ya!
