Dreaming of a New Style of Pinup Therapy

Pinup Therapy is the term I created to describe my work. It isn’t just photography. It isn’t just pinup. It’s therapeutic and after a decade of doing this work I’ve been able to help heal spirits and self-esteem with photography.

I’ve mastered the seamless white backdrop studio light. I can do it now without thinking. I’ve been itching for something more challenging. Natural light is far less forgiving as a potential “studio” look. So while I was back in Colorado for work, we shot several pinup shoots on location in clients’ homes using only natural light and their homes as sets.

They all had lovely homes, were kind, gracious and gorgeous to boot! I ran into snafus but knew that I’d have to think on my toes to make the shoots work. It was demanding, challenging, and I was oh so happy.

This is Julia and I was just blown away by her beauty when we met. She, like nearly all women, has struggled with seeing her own beauty. I’ll let her photos speak for themselves. She was a joy to work with and I hope she will never forget how she felt this day.

And this is introducing my new style of pinup therapy, I call it Vintage Boudoir.

I love these photos! The natural light adds shadows and depth to the photos. It makes the model human and not just art on print.
