10 Famous Graphic Designers

Famous Graphic Designers: Quote by Alina Wheeler

Are you curious about famous graphic designers?

I dream of being known for my graphic design, so I thought it would be interesting to find out how a few famous graphic designers became famous, and what made them different from anyone else.

Graphic Designers might not be household names, but there are some that have gained international fame, and at least, are well-known in the design world.

Each one has their own unique style.

“If you have ideas and imagery, technique will follow.”

Right?

Kim

Kim accomplished her first big dream by traveling to New York with her teenage daughter in June of 2009. She lost 20 pounds and overcame her intense dislike (do we say fear?) of flying to accomplish that dream. She still loves her dream career as a graphic designer and wrote this post at the beginning of her graphic design dream for anyone wanting to become a graphic designer and wishing to find out more about them online.

Antbox & FSDFSDF at the time that Kim wrote this post there was nothing written on the web about famous graphic designers that could be found through search.  The Wikipedia page on Paul Rand was created a year after this post was written.

The reason this post went viral when it first was posted is that there was nothing in search about these people and design students flocked to this post as a way to find information about these designers on the Internet.

3 people helped Kim research this post in an attempt to locate information on top graphic designers. There was next to nothing.  We can now see how far graphic designers have come in the public perception since 2009 — now graphic design is everything.

We added Paul Rand for you Antbox, but FSD, as you can see …  there are only 10 spots.  You should have added  Abduzeedo’s information in your comment and a link to his site — we allow that.

    there isn’t ABDUZEEDO?? O.o R U KIDDING ME??

  • Antbox

I have to admit I was rather surprised when I went looking for information on the Internet about Wally Olins and ended up her on this blog. Pretty cool blog. Who inspired you to become a graphic designer?

Thank you for putting this together Kim. I am trying to convince my mom that I want a career in graphic design and she wants me to study accounting and become a CPA. She says it is more stable than graphic design and more money, so I set out on the Internet to find more information to argue my point with her and stumbled upon this beautiful site! Wow!!!!! These designers are so amazing. Keep working on your dreams while I work on changing my mothers mind!!!! Leslie V

Awesome post about graphic designers. The only thing I could find on the web that really gave me much information was this post. With all the graphic designers in the world doing everything from logos to web design, why isn’t there more written about them? Thanks, this helped with a project I am working on and this blog is really a pretty blog, especially the banner at the top. Brit

Myself and the three above me must be in the same class! I found many graphic designers to review but only a couple who had work to use for my assignment and this post was most helpful in completing the task presented to me, thanks so much, you guys are great!

Thanks for this list. I have to do a report for school and your list helped me find graphic designers to talk about. What are your goals? Carmen ;o)

This is a pretty comprehensive list. What type of designer are you? Type-face designer? Image and type? Symbols, logos and logotype? What type of work? High end art? web design? Advertising? Details?
