Own Your Power to Make Your Dreams Come True

Own Your Power to Make Your Dreams Come True

Every now and then life will get in the way of your big dream.

It’s natural, like loosing your drivers license or turning up the wrong street at least once in your life.

It’s going to happen — just as sure as menopause and wrinkles will happen, but like anything in life, it’s what you do with the hand you are dealt that will separate the wheat from the chaf.

Just don’t become a victim and get stuck.

Setting your dream aside for too long of a time can become like the bad-boyfriend habit — you know it’s not good for you, yet you can’t stop yourself, until one day you wake up and realize what a fool you’ve been for too long and you pick your dignity up off of the floor and move on.

Since the beginning of the year I’ve looked for dream inspiration in the stories of successful tech entrepreneurs like Max Levchin and Tara Hunt. I’ve been reading books and studying magazine articles and I’ve noticed a reoccurring personality trait driving their lives: they take big risks without ever playing the role of victim when they’ve failed. They don’t let themselves get stuck at the dream detour of “I can’t do this” and “I made a mistake.”

They know what they want from this life and they get up every single day and do something that brings them closer to their dream. They do what they love, but more importantly, they don’t look to other people to make their dreams come true.

This is not to say that they don’t partner with others to create a support system for success, but they don’t expect others to make their dream happen. They wouldn’t even think of it. They are driven to implement the life they see in their heads.

They get that taking 100 percent responsibility for their lives requires them to let go of judging others, to release any justification of their own self-sabotaging behaviors, and not to waste time being jealous of others. They get that these habits will only keep them from stepping into their own power.

And they have to step into their power to make their dreams come true.

Like it or not, you have to own your life and what is happening (or not happening) with your dream.

It’s yours. It belongs to you. It’s your calling.

Own it.

You can make your dreams come true.
