Oh well, whatever, I don’t really care.

How many times have you said those words to yourself? I know I’ve said  or thought them too many times in my lifetime. Maybe it’s a way to protect ourselves from hurt or pain, or from failing.

If you don’t care about it then it can’t get you right?

But it does get you eventually. It stops you from going after your dreams, or even dreaming. You have to care enough about something to make an effort and put yourself “out there”. You have to take chances and face possible failures.

It’s scary.

I am a quiet, reserved, aloof personality. It’s hard for me. But I’m not going to say, “Oh well, whatever, I don’t care” anymore. I want to dream big!

I want to travel to Japan. And many other places. To travel you need money. To get money, you need a successful career. I want to be a successful Graphic Designer. How do I do that exactly??

My schooling is finished. I have a year’s experience under my belt.

Now what?

I’m here to represent all the quiet introverts who are afraid to put themselves “out there” and go after your dreams. We can make it happen!

Till next week,

(Kim has already accomplished her first big dream by traveling to New York with her teenage daughter June of 2009. She lost 20 pounds and overcame her intense dislike (do we say fear?) of flying to accomplish that dream. She rotated off the blog in February 2010, but still hangs out with 8 Women Dream.  You can find her in the comments section)

Very timely entry for me! I found myself saying “I dont care how much it pays, I’ll do it” today…and wait, I DO care. Money is important. The things I want are important. I think quiet introverts and loud extraverts and everyone in between can experience hesitation when it comes to dreaming big. the biggest thing in the way of my dreams is me. Now How do I get out of the way! thanks for your blog this week it was helplful! Remy

You have the talent – that’s for sure – just look at the banner to this website, my logo, Squirrel TV to name a few. And I love your personality. You also speak up and state your mind -your likes and dislikes all the time – I don’t call that quiet and aloof. There’s more to you than what you see …
