The following two tabs change content below.
Heather’s dream is to share with the world her success at becoming healthy after age 40. Heather lost over 88 pounds through changing her diet and incorporating exercise into her busy life. She would like to take what she has learned about becoming fit after 40, and using her Metabolic Training Certification to help others struggling with weight issues mid-life. Heather’s post day is Monday.

If you are wondering what the impact of working full-time to help bootstrap your product launch dream will do? This is the reality.

  • You will spend at least a month beating yourself up that you need to be working on things, while you fall asleep over your laptop at a really early hour in the evening.
  • Your house will not be clean because you no longer have time to care. You get over this quick.
  • The only laundry that gets done are the clothes you need to wear to work. Towels, linens and work out wear will pile up.
  • You may become a cliche. For example, I am currently writing this on my laptop at Starbucks.

This is mobile and flexible living with technology that is absolutely necessary for anyone who works, tries to keep children fed, and maintain a household.

Note: I said tries.

Dream path, rediscovered

I know, that is the millionth time I may have typed that statement here. The difference this time is that my financial situation has improved (thank you full-time work!) and it’s amazing how you can re-prioritize once that issue is taken off your plate of worrying.

My own product launch energy is starting to come back. Catherine gave me fair warning that it would be an adjustment, but like any rational adult who thinks I am invincible, I figured it would be easier. It is getting there, but in case you couldn’t tell from the amazing women who are here blogging about dreaming big dreams, this whole dreaming thing takes a ton of energy.

I am keeping my sanity, and my to-lists, on a constant running schedule using the Reminders app on my iPhone 4S. Thank god I saved my upgrade and got the Siri feature. Dictating Reminders, texts and even email when I don’t have a computer – or just want to save time – has been a lifesaver.

Committing to my next launch

I’ve talked about a lot of product launch solutions that I’ve reviewed, started working and left in the dust. One of these concepts was an online system to launch niche web sites.

Why start something I wasn’t going to finish?

  • I had no idea how much time the process itself would take
  • I had the time when I started, but I don’t now
  • The process had a monthly subscription cost
  • I can’t keep paying for something I have intention of using

What I will commit to is updating my blogs. I’ve talked about this before, but now that my time to work these businesses is reduced, I need to update them with some information that I am available, just not 24/7.

  • Forward Motion Studios – update to focus on consultant, blog and e-commerce support.
  • For Your Adornment – I found a perfect e-commerce solution for my jewelry! I recently helped my sister re-launch her Thistle Glass site on this platform and will be sharing the experience of setting this up on my site in future posts.

Launch, even if its tiny

I mentioned a couple times in this post, and in the video, that I am carving out 10-15 minute sections in my day to get things done. I can do this since I took the time to break down the path to my product launch dream into tiny little tasks.

Catherine gives some great advice on how this works in her dreaming e-book, and all over her top blog dream posts. It ‘s accepting that it will take a bunch of tiny steps to get there that can be discouraging. Believe me, that lesson never stops.

While I’m over here adjusting, what will you do this week to launch your dream?
