How To Get Information On New York City

I’ve been doing my job this week of working on my dream to travel to New York with my daughter and was thinking of the best way to go about getting information on New York City without going through a travel agency, (Not that I’m against them, just don’t know of any) and thought maybe I could get some great advice from this site. I have basic questions of course like:

When’s the best time to go.

Where’s the best place to stay (reasonably priced central location)

Where are the hidden treasures to go see besides the obvious sites.

What’s the best play to take a teenager to see.

How long should be stay.

But really I want to hear what New York City is all about and what we shouldn’t miss out on. Are packages any good or should we venture out on our own. What makes NYC special.

So now that winter vacation is over and the kids are back in school, (kind of sad, kind of glad!) I can get to researching. I’ve had a pretty good week otherwise, started resolutions and such.  I actually walked a few days this week,  and even used my kid’s Wii Fit game, pretty cool; it actually made me want to get up and move…of course the game gives you your “Fit” age and I think I was 80 or something…scary.

Till next time, Kim.

(Kim has already accomplished her first big dream by traveling to New York with her teenage daughter June of 2009. She lost 20 pounds and overcame her intense dislike (do we say fear?) of flying to accomplish that dream. She rotated off the blog in February 2010, but still hangs out with 8 Women Dream.  You can find her in the comments section)
