affiliate marketing for dream income

Have you ever thought about how passive income, like affiliate marketing, can assist your entrepreneurial dream income?

My primary business trades services (time) for income (money), as a lot of business models do. The wonderful news about passive income is that it works for you 24/7. You set it up and let it go. Sit back and collect the checks… you get the idea.

Of course, that’s if you understand that all marketing require work to build.

Affiliate Marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliates marketing efforts.

That is the kicker, that any online success requires work to get visitors to come to begin with. Just ask Cath about the work that goes into our 8 Women Dream.

Here are the top 4 tips to help you choose affiliate marketing:

1. Research what is out there. What products or services do you want to promote? Some recommended places to start are Clickbank and the Pepperjam Network.

2. Does it match what you do? If you are selling services for online marketing (like me) having an affiliate that supports the path to online marketing makes sense. I don’t think I will be advertising workout equipment or weight loss products. They are just not a good match for me no matter how much they pay. And I would feel lazy every time I viewed the ad.

3. Find a place to put it. Online marketing requires online presence – a web site or blog. It also helps if you plan on actively promoting the purpose of this site. Which leads to #4.

4. Talk about it. Now that you have the site, you need to talk about it. Whatever your topic – business, services, reviews – keep your content fresh and relevant. It makes your users very happy to have a consistent message, and doesn’t hurt your potential affiliate income either.

  • One of the best aspects of Affiliate Marketing is not having to worry about having to provide a customer support function. Remember, the vendor, or merchant, owns the product that you’re promoting – he/she has the hassle of this.
    Good luck with your efforts.

  • Awfully beneficial thanks, I do think your followers could very well want a whole lot more posts like that continue the good effort.

People don’t work hard enough on lead generation and this is why their online efforts fail, especially when it comes to affiliate marketing. Here’s what Winson Yeung has to say about lead generation:

Let me give you some steps you can take to take the guesswork out of the equation and get there quickly (cause you know you need to have something to generate your leads, right?).

    Step 1: Choosing Your Topic

I won’t say that this is the most difficult thing to do, but it is certainly one of the most important! You can do for your business.

First of all, this has to be powerful. It has to be something people crave for. For example, in the bodybuilding niche, skinny guys crave to put on weight in a short amount of time. This can be your topic. Let’s pick another niche. Internet marketing! People in the SEO game want to rank as fast as possible. So write an ebook about that!

Just pick something that people crave for in your niche. That can almost ensure conversions even if your squeeze page is crap!

Step 2: Get the ebook done!

Some people like to write first, and then give it a title. I usually give my ebooks their title first. Afterall, you should be knowing what you’re gonna write about by now, right?

So if you were me, you would do this:

    1. Choose a title. Something that shows them what the ebook is about. Ex. Mass Gain For Hardgainers

    2. Do an outline – which will also be your Table of Contents. Ex. Introduction, Mindset, Nutrition, Training, Taking it to the next level

    3. Write away! Write on each of your main points. Of course, you can break them down to various subpoints first if you prefer.

There are problems in affiliate marketing if you a) Don’t have a list or; b) Don’t have the money or another stream of income to hold you over; c) Don’t have any technical skill, knowledge and understanding of how Internet traffic works; or d) Don’t drive enough traffic or you start before you have built a following.

    It’s Nichecontent + Traffic + PREsell + Monetize = Income

The PREsell is what most screw up.

  • Th goal should be to monetize as large a percent as possible of your visitors and diversify beyond the affiliate model. Google AdSense is a “must” add-on if your main business is to be an affiliate. In other words, develop a mix of supplementary monetization models by offering other products and/or services. Look at what just happened to all the Amazon Affiliates in the states Amazon pulled their ads out of due to new state tax revenue laws. Affiliate programs aren’t a get rich quick plan, but they can provide an opportunity to make passive income in the future.

The problem with affiliates being successful is that most web-owners don’t know how to build traffic to their website. Build it and they will come. NOT. In the offline retail world, the old saying goes that “location, location, location” are the three most important factors for success. If you put your offline store on the right street corner, you’re 90% of the way home. Why? Passer-by traffic, or “street traffic”. But… When was the last time you saw someone casually stroll past a Web site? Never, right? Why? Because people choose to go to Web sites. They click on links or type in URLs. They make the decision. They have the power. And most affiliates and website owners never figure out how to work with that power to attract tens of thousands of interested, motivated visitors every day.

    It’s important to:

    1. Make the content of their Web pages “attractive” to Search Engines and understand how to get the maximum out of everything you publish online-leaving no detail out.
    2. Study the reports that track how each page performs on the major Search Engines, from submission, through spidering, indexing and finally to how each page ranks.
    3. Have more than one way to drive traffic to the website.
    4. Analyze Click IN and Click-through patterns meticulously on your reports, as if your web-life depends on it (because it does)
    5. Execute well, having assembled or created a wide variety of expensive tools along with a product your visitor simply must have. Too many website owners look at everything from what they want, instead of what the visitor wants and more importantly needs.
    6. In other words, create worthwhile websites that give something back to the Internet! Without “gateway” pages and no tricks.
    7. Build truly high-value content that pleases both human readers as well as the Search Engines.

If you do all this and never settle for sub-par content, or slapping something out there because you are bored or tired, your pages will generate targeted traffic into your site and your referrals to affiliated merchants will work because they trust in what you are doing. That traffic flow is called a “clickstream.” You tap the clickstream for income because you deserve to be rewarded for remarkable web content.

    That’s my affiliate two cents!

  • I love affiliate relationships and I need to set up my book in E-junkie to do this – thanks for the reminder!
