To find some great places to eat in New York.
Now that I have my dates set and an itinerary, I have a few weeks to find restaurants to go to. I know that I don’t want to eat at the hotel because the reviews say that it is very expensive and not worth the price. I want to look for authentic N.Y. food, like their pizza, hot dogs, etc. Going to some food street vendors are a must. Delis and bakeries are something I want to find. I might even check out Hell’s Kitchen or Bobby Flay’s for a treat. But nothing too touristy. I plan to walk a lot when we get there so I can eat a lot!
Exercising and eating right has been going well and consistent. I am 3 pounds away from a 20 pound weight loss. Only 10 more to go after that! Zumba class has been fun but hard. I have to remember that I’m not in my 20′s anymore and I REALLY don’t have to keep up with everyone. It’s been great to get out and go to a class, (thanks Nancy for going with me!)
My goal this week is to find tickets for a morning show. I am trying to get on Live with Regis and Kelly, and have sent off for tickets but I won’t know until a couple weeks before we leave. Good Morning America is another one I’m trying to get on. My daughter has pushed that she really wants to do this so I’m trying! If we don’t get tickets ahead of time, we’ll have to go early in the morning when we’re there for stand-by. It will be interesting.
Till next time,
Kim.
(Kim has already accomplished her first big dream by traveling to New York with her teenage daughter June of 2009. She lost 20 pounds and overcame her intense dislike (do we say fear?) of flying to accomplish that dream. She rotated off the blog in February 2010, but still hangs out with 8 Women Dream. You can find her in the comments section)
