Entrepreneur Dream Expansion Using EBay, Cash and Feng Shui

Dream expansion: Heather's Value Star Wars Collectibles on EBay

My continual dream path to find multiple streams of income took an obvious turn this week toward dream expansion.

eBay

In the past I had a love/hate relationship with eBay. Several years ago I fell in love with the rush of the auction process. Lets just say that for the safety of my credit card, I logged off and stayed off. Regardless, the site has been the result of several incredible birthday and holiday gifts.

This past weekend I jumped online and with Catherine’s help, I have officially set up my first eBay store: Heather’s Value Collectibles.

Why would I bother with this?

To get you up to speed, I may have mentioned quite a few times in past posts about my desire to dive into the world of product development. The first venture into physical products is my couture jewelry line: For Your Adornment.

This decision was easy since I have a passion for jewelry making, but jewelry, like any other product, needs to find a niche to get sales. I’ve taken you through a few online tools recently like Flickr and Etsy. Next step for my jewelry is on eBay.

But first I had to make some space.

Clear your clutter for abundance

You’ve probably heard the concept that clearing your clutter makes room for abundance.

I am all about ANYTHING that helps open up space for abundance.

Part of my plan in clearing stuff out, is to let go of my past to make room for my future.

How did I decide what was ready to go?

I used several tips from one of my favorite books Clear your Clutter with Feng Shui.

As you read, think about how this applies to your own stuff:

  • Does it lift my energy when I think about it or look at it?
  • Do I absolutely love it?
  • Is it genuinely useful?

Another noted issue in Karen Kingston’s book is collections. Collections can be anything you like – figurines, books, or in my case, all things Star Wars. Karen has a great chapter on collections. What they typically mean to those who feel the need to collect, and how they can impact expansion in your life.

The biggest thing a collection can impact is your ability to make room for new energy in your life.

I had to air my collections to my son and Catherine of 8WD this weekend. Open up my obsessions for all to see, and then put it online. The first items on my eBay store were my original Star Wars collectibles.

Yes, I am a nerd.

The opportunity to go through the clutter-clearing-for-dream-expansion process has happened before. So what makes my clutter clearing different this time?

Cash

I’m looking for the cash that is lying around my house. Aren’t we all these days? This opportunity will offer solutions to several problems.

  • Make room for my dreams – Find physical space to work on my dreams and clutter reduction to increase creativity
  • Make some money – You never know what someone out there may love
  • Find an outlet – What makes sense for you? Your outlet could be a garage sale, online store for your products, or even starting a whole new business. For me, the eBay store will serve several purposes for my immediate clutter clearing AND jewelry sales in the near future.

Now is the time to jump on this, before the holidays when the buyers are looking. You never know what you might uncover!

While I carve out time to post 1 more item on eBay, what is blocking your energy? Do you have clutter that could use clearing? I let my collections out in the world for judgment, so clear out your dark secrets in the comments!

Looking forward to the next dream expansion!

Clear your clutter is one of my faves too. When I notice I’m getting distracted in my office, or non creative where I’m writing, I look around – Is this clutter or is it a collection? Such a fine line.

Although I’ve never done it this way, using Ebay to raise cash for my business could be a real thing.
I have some old camera stuff that I don’t use but I’m sure someone could and would want to pay for that.
