Remove The Bottleneck And Your Dream Will Come

Goal Status: 12 new pair of earrings, project overview life cycle defined

I officially have a new title: bottleneck

How many income streams does it take to officially lose your mind? I’m not even there yet and I can feel the sanityVisualize rock from 8 Women Dream

slipping. The good news is that the slip shows up in ways that aren’t necessarily destructive to anyone but me.

This has been a week of working my ass off with lots of things in process, but not complete. The non-completes has shown up in lots of ways:

    Bookkeeper: Any billables this week?

Me: Nope. Everything is in progress.

Jewelry Store: Any new items you can bring in?

Me: Nope. Everything is in pieces.

    My husband: What’s that smell?

Me: The pork roast I forgot in the crockpot! Crap!

My business coach, fellow dreamer Remy, reminded me that even if I let myself rest, it will be there for me tomorrow.

I don’t know whether to be thankful or run screaming.

Where are your bottlenecks happening? Do you find them popping up as physical items (too many files on your desk) or virtual interruptions (like the phone ringing)?

Have you found a solution to your work becoming a bottleneck?

Share what’s working or just bitch about whats not.

While I keep on working hard, burning dinner, and trying to visualize a clean desk, I leave you with this:

“Laugh a lot, and when you’re older, all your wrinkles will be in the right places”

Hey, remember you need stuff to create a bottleneck, which in itself defines progress. When I worked in stock brokerage houses the rule was 100 calls, one client. That’s a hard ratio but a proven one. And I’d watch the baby brokers dialing, dialing, sinking lower and lower – most of them anyway. but there were always a couple that sat straighter and straighter because they knew each rejection put them one call closer to their goal. So, don’t beat yourself up. Put the work IN and the results will come.

Hey, even I have never burned dinner in a crock pot!

I’m fully confident you’ll get all of this figured out, spilt splat and that bottleneck of yours will soon be a distant memory…

Hey thanks for the mention – but you paint only one side of this picture – the tactical side. You have been working hard strategically on making long term solutions to these bottleneck issues. and that is tough to do, cause you cant see what it looks like yet…the moment you called yourself the bottleneck was the moment the solution began. You burned dinner in a crock pot? that is hard to do. Hopefully you will continue to plan the days, and honor your down time…and order in. See you tomorrow – right? :) Rem
