Heather’s dream is to share with the world her success at becoming healthy after age 40. Heather lost over 88 pounds through changing her diet and incorporating exercise into her busy life. She would like to take what she has learned about becoming fit after 40, and using her Metabolic Training Certification to help others struggling with weight issues mid-life. Goal Status: 6 more pieces of jewelry ready to deliver.

Last week I mentioned needing more silver wire. I remembered this once again on Friday, at 6:15 and the bead store closed at 7:00 pm.

In my book, it’s OK to speed if you are after your dream.

Since then, the silver wire has turned into 4 new pair of earrings, and 2 custom findings that finished off necklaces that were otherwise ready to go to market.

The market in question for me is currently Haus Fortuna in Petaluma. I had the opportunity to talk to art lovers and jewelry aficionados at the monthly Petaluma Art Walk, that takes place every 2nd Saturday of the month. The lovely owner, Karla, had my photo up on Facebook before we wrapped up the day. That’s the way to use social media!

Spiral pearl and agate necklace

Most of the afternoon was spent mentioning the types of materials I use (glass beads, natural and semi-precious stones), how I use them (crocheted, spiraled or braided) and how I had integrated other materials, like fiber, for contrast and a surprise element.

Talking about my dream all afternoon infused me.

We could all use an infusion, especially during this lovely time of taxes due or extensions filed. Cash would be nice, don’t get me wrong, and would help most of the dreamers out there. Not everyone gets cash back.

So how can you infuse your dream regardless of the number at the bottom of the tax form?

1. Talk to your friends – how many friends know about your dream? How many friends know about 8 Women Dream? Tell a few, then tell a few more. The universe has a way of sending like minded people your way.

2. Make a calllast week I talked about making the call. What does that mean to you? We all have a pile of business cards, post-its, notes, and ideas on our desk, admit it. Pick one of them up and find a person who has the answer. Then call them with your idea, product, solution, etc.

3. Find your zen – if you have been running at top speed for over 500 miles, then take a break. Don’t stress, you won’t have to run away to Bermuda to get recharged. If you do, I’m hiding in your luggage. Try 20 minutes, outside, no phone, no agenda, no purpose. Just breathe and let the bullshit float away.

Another year of taxes, no matter the outcome, will not matter if by this time next year, you are living your dream. Keep the good thoughts and have some fun this week!

Love that necklace…we should do a womens artistic something or other show at Groove. Can’t wait to work together more.

  • Heather, love the reminders to talk to your friends – share the dream! (the Universe DOES reward us I believe for enrolling others in our dreams – that’s how we make it all happen!).

And the reminder to take your Zen time – sooo iimportant. I try to fit in some every day… my meditation and/or some quiet time, a walk, something to return me to my center and care for my body/spirit… Really important to keep our energy/stamina up for living our dreams too!

    Keep on living the dream!

and thanks for the bday wishes Cath!

You are so correct, that by putting your dreams out in the universal jet stream, connections and good things will float your way.

And the fact that you’re so damn organized and smart will bring you success.

I hope soon, you will expand your Zen time (you deserve it)?

WOW, you are moving right along…and please find your zen soon. Have you gone for Ice Cream yet? You cant plan a vacation if you cant even get out of the house for a cone. I am in awe of your progress – after yesterdays call it’s obvious to me that you are on the right path with business and jewelry , and you just have to keep plugging away and following your own advice. You’ll get here and you’ll shine. Love Rem
