Warning: Stretch Before Taking That Big Dream Step

Sometimes finding time to work on your dream requires stretching.

Dream Status:

  • 6 miles of hiking around Spring Lake in preparation for Bay To Breakers (thanks for dragging me out of the house Cath!)
  • Set a date for our next Social Media Seminar (again… thanks Cath!)
  • I get to show of my jewelry at Haus Fortuna to my fellow 8 Women Dreamers at this Friday’s meeting

While hobbling around with super sore hamstrings on Sunday, recovering from the 6 mile hike, I thought about stretching in your dream. Maybe it was the lack of ability to physically stretch that drove me to think about it.

I swear I used to be gumby...

What makes you take a stretch of your comfort zone?

We hear it from several sources, including all the women here daily. It takes a leap, stretch, jump (or shove) out of the comfy zone to go after our dreams. You gotta really want it.

Where do you find time to fit your dreaming into “real life”?

We are ALL busy.

Duh.

I happened to fit a lot into this past Saturday afternoon. Typically all my entrepreneurial activities squeeze into part of an evening. Some people may disagree that 10 pm – 1 am still counts as evening.

I can finally say I have recovered from the long walk that is already 5 days in the past, I can offer this piece of advice.

S – T – R – E – T – C – H

Your dreams, your mind. And your body after hiking 6 miles.

Whatever gets you out of the rut and onto the path. It is so much easier to spot those goals from the clear path, than the view from the rut at the side of the road.

Need some inspiration? I love this story told by Jack Canfield. It helps remind you to Dream Big and let your dream be known.

Go out and take that big dream step… just don’t forget to stretch first.

Heather’s dream is to share with the world her success at becoming healthy after age 40. Heather lost over 88 pounds through changing her diet and incorporating exercise into her busy life. She would like to take what she has learned about becoming fit after 40, and using her Metabolic Training Certification to help others struggling with weight issues mid-life. It’s interesting how the body will resist stretching even though it feels so good. Kind of like stretching to change – there is a lot of resistance.

    Ready for another 6 miles?
